Ahh the dreaded Halloween. I think my favorite part of this entry is the title. I can go either way. I’m not big on dressing up, but I enjoy the parties, but it is definitely different for single folks.

Have you ever read the blog stuffchristianslike? The focus of the blog is weird Christian hang-ups. It’s like group therapy for recovering legalists. Very fun. Here is one about Halloweeen:

I just love Halloween too. I don’t understand why people have such an issue with it. I love seeing all of the little trick-or-treaters in their costumes!

Of course, we don’t do the “scary” stuff. We lean more towards the pumpkins and *COUGH* candy.

I’m with Lydia that I’m not crazy about Halloween, however, that may change now that I have a kid to dress up in a cute outfit. And I have nothing against anyone celebrating it, I’m just not wild about the colors and decorations. It’s more annoying to me than anything. lol. I think that you can pretty much celebrate any of these holidays that have been secularized as long as you know in your heart that you are just celebrating for fun. I mean, St. Patty’s day is mainly all about drinking but I think nothing of people who just want to wear green and make green things on that day. That doesn’t make them an alcoholic. I do plan on dressing Brooklyn up and giving out candy as long as we’re home that day. I think it will be cute and I want to get lots of pictures. Like I said, now that I have a kid I’ll probably get more into this holiday as it is fun to dress them up! Good post! I whole-heartedly agree!

I’m not very big into Halloween. Not because of its origins, it’s just not a holiday I love. I do love fall in general and enjoy decorating for it though. Of course I buy my kids costumes and we participate in Garrett’s Halloween party at school where they go trick or treat the businesses around the square of our town. And we go to our church’s fall festival, but we don’t trick or treat on Halloween and we don’t turn on our outside lights to encourage trick or treaters to come here. Mostly because I don’t want Garrett wondering why we’re not out there doing that. haha When he gets older and realizes that’s what happens on Halloween, then we’ll consider doing it briefly if that’s what he wants. But for now, he’s oblivious. LOL I think it’s great that you enjoy Halloween and take your girls to do all the fun stuff that it involves!
