Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Ways You Know You’ve Become A  MOM…..

1. Those little people that live in your house have nicer clothes and shoes than you do. And for that matter, they always look more put together than you do!

2. You long for a break from your little munchkins but when you’re finally able to get away with your husband  all you talk about is your kids and how much you miss them.

3. You think everyone else is interested in hearing about your child’s latest brilliant new achievement, funny story or weird bowel movement. (Mommy blog, anyone?)

4.You come to realize you’re repeating a lot of the same things your mom used to say to you! And you realize she was right!!

5. Privacy is a thing of the past….and so is your dignity.

6. Grocery shopping alone is a luxury and feels a little like being pampered.

7. Catching with your bare hands the assorted bodily fluids your child can emit in public no longer phases you. That’s why you carry around wipes and hand sanitizer!

8. The 5 second rule has turned into the 30 second rule which has turned into the 1 minute rule.

9.You’ve learned to shower, shave, have a phone conversation and eat breakfast all at the same time.

10. You’re amazed each day that such a little person (or big person as the case may be) can bring so much joy into your life and make your heart feel like it’s going to explode with love every time you see that face.

What a great list – SO TRUE!
I participated in #7 more times than I care to think about – reflux baby. Amazing what you can catch in your hand.
#10 – Brings tears to my yes.

So true! #1 is the most true ever. I can’t even tell you the last time I had a new OUTFIT. *sigh*

I’m starting to realize just how true these all are…

Oh, girlfriend, you nailed it! The ‘catching body fluids’ thing – yea, never would have imagined how proud I could feel at seeing my man dive to catch puke like how he used to dive to catch a ball. Only a mama would find that sexy!

Number 9 is the story of my life. Multi-taksing at its finest.

Oh, man, so true. I just spent more on shoes for my daughter than I would consider spending on me (well, not really true, I have bad feet, which means my shoes are expensive, but if I didn’t have foot issues, I would never spend this much on shoes).

So true! #7 totally cracked me up. My sisters still gag every time I get used as a human Kleenex by my 3 kids, but I know they’ll realize it just comes with the territory once they have little ones of their own!

Even though I don’t have little children any more, I can relate to most of your top ten! I still remember alot about when you and your siblings were little, it makes me nostalgic! Very good, and I got a good laugh too:)

Great list! I could comment on all of them but I’d be here all night! I am all about the second one…I can be gone for just a couple of hours and it feels as though I have missed so much!

This made me smile at the memories, nod in acknowledgment and shed a little tear in knowing it’s going too quickly. Thank you for this great list!
