Kid-Terview Friday Is Back! With A Makeover?
Friday, July 23rd, 2010
A while back I started a blog meme called Kid-Terview Friday where I featured a different child each Friday and an interview done with them by (usually) their moms. The interviews were really cute and some of the answers were so funny! I then ran out of interviews so Kid-Terview Friday had to take a break. I’m thinking of starting it up again but have a few changes/ twists I’d like to make and a few questions to ask you readers:
1. Is this meme something you’d be interested in participating in? I know there are so many out there!
2. If I made it a monthly thing instead would that make it more fun? I was thinking of adding these options/changes in:
a) Either a typed out interview or a video of the child answering the interview questions.
b) Making this meme only video clips of an interview with your child OR just a funny/cute/precious moment you caught on camera that month.
c) Instead of me featuring just one interview a week on my blog, doing a monthly link up of videos and written interviews. Each mom who participates can just post the interview/ video clip on her blog and then link up on my blog. Then we could all blog hop and catch the cute video clips that were linked up. C’mon…we all think our children are stars and worthy of a little adulation.
What do you guys think? Would you link up and participate? I personally am leaning towards the video clips. I think they would be hysterical! We could call it “Precious Moments” or something like that….
Hmm…
What do you guys think? I know you must get some great moments caught on video of your children.
Here’s an old Kid-Terview Friday post from my old blog for you to take a peek at.
Top Ten Favorite Memes

2. Not Me Monday at MckMama.com
MckMama started this meme a while back. It’s a meme where we can publicly confess the non perfect person/mom/wife/ friend etc we were the past week by some of the things we “hypothetically” might have done.
3. Losing It- at House Of Hills
A continuation of a fun, 10 week weight loss challenge several of us Bloggers participated in a few weeks ago. Kathy has graciously agreed to continue it on her blog as a way for us to keep going with our weight loss goals and to keep each other accountable each Friday by linking up. I was knocked off the proverbial wagon a few weeks ago (so to speak) and I plan on getting back on soon and losing another 10 pounds. Can’t wait to link up again!
4. Wordful Wednesday- At Seven Clown Circus
Many of us love Wordless Wednesday but, well, can’t keep from actually making it wordless! Wordful Wednesday is for you if you fall into this category. You can post a great picture (or two) and write as many words about it as you want!
5. Works For Me Wednesday- We Are THAT Family
Got a tip that has worked wonders for you in your home or personal life?Write about it and link up! You’ll find lots of useful information in this meme and you may be able to make a difference in someone else’s day with your tip.

7. Feed Me Books Friday- at The Adventure Of Motherhood
I love to read and I love to read to my girls. Adventure Mom Janna has created this meme to share great books she has read to her daughter and invites us to share too. You’ll want to check these books out and read them to your children! What a great book list!
8. Real Clean Wednesday…. at iDream Of Clean
Join Christine as she shares wonderful cleaning tips and tricks on Real Clean Wednesday. Not only will you gain some new tricks from her but from the other Bloggers who link up as well. A plethora (yep. I finally got to use that word!) of cleaning and organizing advice from real, every day women on one page! I guess I don’t have anymore excuses for being a poor housekeeper, huh?
9. Saturday Stumbles- at It’s Come 2 This
Mandi invites us to share some great blog posts that we’ve read the previous week from other bloggers. She graciously Stumbles other people’s blog posts that she finds interesting and/or useful so other people can be blessed by them as well. I haven’t personally Stumbled anything yet but I most definitely read some great blog posts each week. This is a great way to share some bloggy love and give props to inspiring, informative or touching blog posts.
10. Kid-Terview Friday- at Simply Mel!
This is shameless self marketing right here, folks. What is this meme all about you ask? (And poo on you if you didn’t.) This is a meme (is it a meme if there’s no link up?) I created a while back (on my old blog) where moms can submit an interview that they’ve had with their child and I post it on my blog(along with an adorable picture of said child) each Friday. The interview questions can literally be whatever you want. I was able to post several cute and funny ones. It’s amazing how the mind of children work!! It was also fun to see the questions that the moms came up with. Some of them were very creative! It’s a great way to showcase how cute/precocious/funny/brilliant/ adorable your kid is and have all the readers agree with you in the comment section! I’d love to start this meme back up again. So, if you’re interested in submitting an interview with your child let me know! Here’s one that was submitted a while back.
Have a Top Ten list and no where to put it? Write about it and link up at Oh Amanda.

Hello to my new friends stopping by from the 2010 Ultimate Blog Party hosted by 5 Minutes For Mom.
Welcome!
This is my little corner of the blog world where I get to act all important and in charge. Isn’t my little corner lovely? I should give my brother a shout out since he’s the one who designed my blog. He’s talented like that.
See those two, cute little girls in the picture up top? Those are my two princesses, Katelyn and Madelyn. They are 4 and 2. They are my pride and joy and I’m so blessed and thankful to have them.
I’m a wife to a wonderful man, Christian, wannabe good housekeeper, former missionary kid, former preschool teacher, chocolate loving, coffee addicted, vertically challenged, singing, piano playing, stay at home blogging mama.
I live in New England. But my heart belongs to Texas.
I love me some good t.v nights with the hubs-Lost, Glee, Grey’s Anatomy, So You Think You Can Dance, Heroes and Castle are my favorites.
I love to read.
My favorite color is purple. I wish I had better teeth. My husband is really tall- 6′7- and I’m reeeallly short -5′2-. We’ve made it work.
I dream of singing for a Disney cartoon ( a la The Little Mermaid) one day.
You’ll find I write about my faith, my marriage, my daily life, my girls, my attempt at weight loss and how Financial Peace University is changing our lives A LOT. I try to throw in some humor, some pet peeve posts, recipes and other silliness every now and then.
I recently opened about our struggle to conceive a third child. It felt so great to open up about it that I started writing even more about it. Then I started a brand new fertility support blog- Reflections Of Waiting Wombs.
Really, it’s brand spankin’ new. I welcome more readers and followers! If you’re reading this and you struggle with fertility issues for the first or fifth time I’d love to hear from you. This is an issue I’m passionate about!

Losing It Challenge Week 2
Friday, March 5th, 2010
I’d have to say this past week was the hardest for me exercise wise. I was super busy and didn’t get on the elliptical until yesterday. I plan on getting on today, tomorrow and {hopefully} Sunday as well to make up for lost time! I also tended to “nibble” a bit more and not count it on my myfitnesspal.com tracker. I blame that on a certain unwanted, monthly visitor that just left. But, even after all that I still lost a pound! When I stepped on the scale this morning I didn’t even want to look because I assumed I had most likely stayed the same or even gained a couple of pounds back. I was thrilled to see I had lost a pound. I’ve now been seriously working on my fitness and weight loss for a month. So in the past month I’ve-
:: Lost 6 lbs
:: Lost 2.5 inches off my waist
I had taken measurements of my arms, thighs and hips a month ago but can’t find where I wrote those down. So, we’ll see next month how much I’ve lost in those areas. Let’s just say that my thighs are the same size as a some women’s waists. Just sayin’.
Yuck.
But since I started this Losing It challenge last week I’ve lost a pound. I don’t know if the previous five pounds should count since I had a head start!
So if you want to count all my six pounds I’ve lost 3% of my weight so far. If you don’t want to count my six pounds and just the one from this past week, I’ve lost .005%! I’ll leave that up to the wonderful ladies hosting this challenge: Mary from Giving Up On Perfect, Jessie from Vanderbilt Wife and Ashleigh from Heart and Home.
I’m up for a busy few months ahead of me. I’m really going to have to manage my time well if I want to continue exercising. We’ve started going to the Financial Peace University class our church is offering and that’s every Tuesday night from 6:30 to 8:30. I have Awana and Bible study on Wed night’s from 6:30-8:00 and then I’m hosting a ladies Bible study at my house on Thursday nights from 6:30-8:30(ish). We’re doing Beth Moore’s study on Esther. I’m really excited about it. On those three days Katelyn goes to school from 11:30-1:55 so I”m gone from 11:00 to about 2:30 those days. That may not sound like a lot but it’s smack in the middle of the day so I don’t get much done before we leave and once we get back I try to get on the elliptical and also take care of my other housekeeping stuff, dinner and the kids. So that doesn’t leave me a lot of time to get much done before my other commitments on those nights. When I get real busy and stressed the first thing I usually let go is my exercise. I really don’t want to do that this time! I told Mike my exercise is not going to fall by the way side this time. I guess it will have to be the house!
So, how is everyone else doing? Write about your journey and link up to the challenge!
Keep up the good work!
